Summary of Changes: This change is a re-coordination of changes to the TRICARE Systems Manual for the implementation of expansion of DHA Duplicate Claims System data elements for the identification of post payment potential duplicate payments to include the NPI. The changes support NPI Requirements in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Administrative Simplification Provision, 45 CFR, Part 162, National Provider Identifier (NPI). Although the change was published, implementation was delayed due to the unanticipated increase in the number of potential duplicates identified.
