1.0 POLICY
1.1 Childbirth
service provided in a hospital-based outpatient birthing room for
an expected normal delivery shall be cost-shared as ambulatory surgery.
1.2 Maternity care for a normal,
uncomplicated pregnancy related to a planned childbirth in a hospital-based
outpatient birthing room is cost-shared as ambulatory surgery.
1.3 The hospital-based outpatient
birthing room services and related maternity care are to be considered
one episode of maternity care for adjudication.
